More Tidbits to Share

Looking for some terrific resources you can use in your classroom immediately?  Visit Laura Candler's website at www.lauracandler.com.  I have been visiting her site for several years and this year I implemented her Power Reading Workshop and I LOVE it!  It is definitely worth purchasing her book.  My students are disappointed when there is a day that we don't do reading workshop and it's all because of Laura Candler's book!

Another great resource on the web, that I consider a must have, is the New Management website.  I own all four of Rick Morris' books and they are overflowing with fabulous classroom management ideas.  Some of my favorites include the Clip Chart, using music for transitions, and the First Aid Kit.

Finally, I don't know about you, but I am always looking for ways to get more resources into my classroom.  In addition to posting projects on DonorsChoose, I also keep an eye on on the Grant Wrangler website for new grant opportunities.  The offerings change periodically.  For more information on DonorsChoose, check out the webinar on the Odds N Ends page on Laura Candler's website.  It is very informative and comprehensive.

I hope you find these resources helpful.  I will post again soon!

So excited to be writing my first post!

I love sharing ideas, resources, and great finds with my co-workers and now I can share them with educators everywhere! First, I want to share a new tech find.  Visit www.classdojo.com.  It's a new classroom management tool that utilizes technology.  I would love to know what you think about it!

I also want to share a great resource for reading comprehension.  Check out www.readworks.org.  It has unit plans for grades K-6 with a focus on reading comprehension.  I will definitely be using this with my students!

I have also created my own store on TeachersPayTeachers.  I have a few resources posted with more on the way.  Stop by and check out all the great resources available created by other enthusiastic educators!
